the brief.
Your client ‘Brisbane City Council’ has approached you to create a four-page A5 event program to promote their annual Summer Latin Festival – Fiesta de Verano. The client would like the design to reflect the Latin culture, in a contemporary and playful way. They have supplied logos, copy, images, vector assets and a ‘mood board.’
my approach.
Through it all, I immersed myself in the design process and theme to achieve the final design. I pushed myself beyond my capacity to achieve the final design, especially with the text matching the light-yellow pattern behind the wordmark. The theme, being bright and fun, was also outside of my comfort zone because my personality naturally drifts towards a sleek, minimal design style. I learned how type can be used, not only to communicate words but as a graphic device that conveys meaning.
